Wellington Zoo

Kia Ora!  Wellington Zoo is nestled in the green belt of Wellington.  The Zoo is over 100 years old, spans 32 acres and is the country's first Zoo.  What I really liked about the Zoo was 'The Nest'.  Visitors can watch the vets in one of the glassed rooms and can ask questions to the vet via an intercom speaker.  There is a tv screen that shows the close up activities from the operating table.   In terms of animals, I was really impressed with the Red Panda enclosure.  There are two Red Pandas and they were very active compared to those at other Zoos.  I thought the Zoo Keeper says signs were hilarious and there seemed to be regular activities for the kids.

Thanks for visiting,
Sue.
