Around Wellington Bays

Kia Ora!  On the way back from Staglands, Mai & I decided to drive around the Wellington Bays.  Starting from Oriental Bay, we headed to Evans Bay, Shark Bay, Kau Bay, Mahanga Bay, Sorching Bay, Breaker Bay, Lyall Bay & Houghton Bay before heading inland to the top of Brooklyn Hill to see the Wind Turbines and take in the breathtaking views of the Wellington region, Cook Strait and the South Island in the distance.

Thanks for visiting,
Sue.

Staglands Wildlife Reserve

Kia Ora!  Staglands Wildlife Reserve is set in beautiful NZ bush along the Akatarawa River, just under an hours drive from Wellington.  At Staglands, you can wander through the 10 hectares of carefully created walkways enjoying the many different native and introduced birds, animals and trout, all in beautiful, natural surrounds.   The wildlife are very friendly and like to be hand fed.  Jusr remember to buy the food at the entrance, DOH!  Staglands would have to be one of, if not, the best wildlife reserve that I've been to.  Lots of fun and laughs were had, thanks Mai  :-)
