Oriental Parade Beach

Kia Ora!  Oriental Parade Beach is a man made beach just down the road from the Copthorne Hotel.  Crowds gather on the beach and boardwalk to soak up the sunshine and just chill.  The inside of the boardwalk wall is a painted seascape mural with the theme - Our Marine Life - Let's protect it!  The pontoon is a source of amusement for the young folk who try to see how many bods can stand on the pontoon before it looses balance.  The Carter Fountain is controlled by a wind sensor and does not activate when the wind is at 10 knots or higher.  In calm weather the fountain can shoot water up to 16 metres into the air.

Thanks for visiting,
Sue.
