Views from The Copthorne balcony

Kia Ora!  Of the 3 hotels I've stayed in thus far during my Business Trip to Wellington, The Amora, The Notovel & The Copthorne @ Oriental Bay, I like The Copthorne the best. All rooms have a balcony, which offers fresh air and views across the Bay to Wellington Harbour.  Nice!

Oriental Bay - Boatsheds

Kia Ora!  Directly across the road from The Copthorne @ Oriental Bay are the Boatsheds.  Seems like an ideal location for the locals to work on their wooden boat restorations.

Oriental Bay - Feathered Birds

Kia Ora!  I enjoyed the afternoon walking around Oriental Bay.  There were lots of feathered birds splashing around the bay and soaking up the warm sun.

Wellington Harbour Fireworks - Chinese New Year

Kia Ora!  There's nothing worse than being in another country and coming down with a cold.  Luckily I'm staying at the Copthorne @ Oriental Bay and was able to watch the fireworks directly across at Wellington Harbour for the Chinese New Year from my balcony.  Nice!  The photo's aren't the best, but I thought I'd include them anyway.

Zealandia - The Karori Sanctuary Experience

Kia Ora!  Zealandia is set around a picturesque reservoir, is a living ecosystem home to some of New Zealand's most rare and extraordinary wildlife - all thriving wild in a world first protected sanctuary valley.  Zealandia is a not for profit organisation with a vision to restore the valley to the way it was before the arrival of humans.

I spent quite a few hours walking around the sanctuary and was very impressed with the abundance of birds.  Zealandia is accessible by free shuttle from the top of the Wellington Cable Car and is definetly worth a visit.
